History Takes Time to Make

Make sure you take the time to learn it

This was my 3rd walking tour in the Old Town, Casco Viejo.  The honest truth is that I wanted to sign up for so many walking tours because I wanted to see how much they would differ from each other.

Yes, of course…there was some duplication…for example all three tours stopped at all the same main stops…all the churches (all 7 of them), the Bovedas walkway and all the notable plazas.

The difference is that even though each stop was the same…the information and the details varied drastically.

For example…we all went into the same church, but the first tour I went in the back room and saw the amazing diorama of the birth of Jesus and I had a private show from the Organist on the private upper level. The second walking tour was really heavy on the history with more of a serious flair. But the final tour with Jenny was history with humour and we went into a different room of that same church to see even more.

It was totally worth it, Jenny shared a lot of the same history as the second tour but she had a different delivery…her super engaging personality, with her solid humour and infectious energy made this tour a completely different tour from the 2nd tour which was also history focused.

Jenny’s tour is tied for first place as a ‘Must Do’ tour with Goran’s tour. I recommend that you do them both…I enjoyed them both soo much that I am doing another day trip with Jenny and a coffee tasting tour with Goran as well.

Some of the amazing places we saw on this 1 hour walking tour included:
La Merced Church | Baluarte Mano de Tigre | Golden Altar Church | Santo Domingo Convent | Independence Square | Plaza de Francia

Jenny was so much fun. Her massive knowledge of the history of Panama coupled with her funny humour made this walk a lot of fun and the time flew by so fast.
