Sancocho de gallina Panameño
A Sancocho is a delicious hearty chicken soup with potatoes, cilantro, yuca and plantains. Other ingredients often used are corn on the cob, hot sauce, chopped onions, garlic and oregano.
Ropa Vieja
Literally meaning old clothes, Ropa vieja is a beef stew with spices like black pepper, cumin and oregano.
Panamanian Tortillas
Panamanian tortillas are thicker, circular and made from corn dough that are usually deep fried or grilled. YUM!
Carimañolas
A stick of fried yucca flour dough, often filled with cheese or ground meat.
Hojaldras
Hojaldras is the Panamanian equivalent to fried bread. It is a delicious dish usually served for breakfast across the country. The tastiest varieties include a fried egg and cheese slices but non-savory versions with just sugar are available.
Raspaos
Shaved ice with condensed milk! There is so much more to this dessert than just the typical shaved ice. There are layers and layers of flavours packed into this cup of shaved ice. If you are lucky enough to find a street vendor that has fresh ingredients you are in for a real treat. Say YES to all the toppings!!! Shaved ice flavoured with your choice of juices or coconut milk, topped with sweetened condensed milk, topped with a dollop of malt powder, drizzled with honey and lastly fresh grated coconut.

Panama Lager
Starting production back in 1964 was a fan favourite from the beginning with its lager-type beer and continues to be an icon of tradition and Panamanian pride.
Geisha Coffee
It is widely known for its unique flavor profile of floral and sweet notes and its high selling price. This coffee is so prestigious it is usually auctioned off and has been sold at 100 pounds of Geisha coffee for $100,000. Geisha is the most valuable coffee in the world.
Seco Sour
This tangy, strawberry twist on a pisco sour features Seco Herrerano, a smooth, neutral spirit made from sugarcane and widely considered the national liquor of Panama.
Chicheme
A corn-based drink prepared from the vanilla flavor and almond milk. This soothing drink is commonly available in any local eateries. It can be pulpy from the corn and is a rich texture of milk and nutmeg create a wonderful combination for your sweet tooth.
Ron Ponche
A beverage mostly drank over the holidays and is thoroughly refreshing made with a fresh egg yolk, vanilla extract, and milk. You can also buy it by the bottle in the grocery store.
