Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
How I learned with a toddler’s song
I have been studying Spanish…makes sense right? Since I am currently living in Central America. I studied Spanish back in high school before I spent a summer in Mexico, and I took two years in University as well…but because I had focused on learning Japanese instead, I have only retained enough ‘travelers’ Spanish to get things done.
I mean, I am far far far from fluent, but I am also not drawing blanks when I speak to people on a daily basis. Although, I have replied to people in Japanese a few times….and then they draw a blank. HAHAHA
Yup, I have developed my own Jackelyn language…a mash up of English, Japanese and Spanish.
Which are you?
Estar vs. Ser
There is a some confusion…just like in all languages…
English…two, too, to…there are some words that can lead you a stray.
Japanese also has two different verbs for the state of being…but one is for living objects (いる) and the other is for inanimate objects (ある)…not depending on the your state of existence.
How you feel vs. what you are
Estoy Loco vs. Soy Loco
Do you feel crazy or ARE you crazy?
- Twinkle Twinkle Little Estar
- Use SER for WHO and WHAT you are
- ESTAR is for the other deal
- WHERE YOU ARE and HOW YOU FEEL!
