Resort Life

Live like Royalty at Serenade

Chose this resort hands down! Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort, is not a chain resort and so this is the only one of its name and I truly feel like they have luxury resort living on point. The resort was stunning, perfectly manicured, fantastic layout….everything you would expect from a huge chain resort.

Located on the beachfront of Cabeza de Toro beach, Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort has around 600 rooms and a range of amenities and services, typical of a luxurious hotel.

This magical experience of gentle breezes, white sand and the spectacular Cabeza de Toro beach are only a few things that made this resort spectacular.

Food Coma

The Gastronomy

The food….the taste of exquisite gastronomic options. WOW. Typical to all resorts you have the buffet, some food options scattered around the resort and of course the themed evening dining options that require reservations. But what wasn’t typical of the resorts I have been to is the sit down civilized breakfast and lunch options. As well as if you are staying on the Adult Only side, you also get exclusive access to even better restaurants and an exquisite food court type venue where you can chose among various cuisines without needing a reservation.

Without a doubt this resort had the best quality food and selections on the menus than any resort I have ever been to. It never disappointed, not even the sport bar food menu. The only thing that I avoided like the plague was the Family Side Buffet, that was a nightmare of chaos….just as any all inclusive buffet is.

Living the Dream

The Accommodations

Ok now let’s talk about this. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable. When we first arrived I realized that I had accidentally booked the Family Side Luxury Ocean View Room and they had upgraded us to include a jacuzzi tub on the patio as well which was pretty cool (although I would never have used it) but the view was an epic view of the ocean. While I was quite happy with the room…and after a solid night sleep we ventured to the beach to find a lounge chair and soak up some sun…we walked around the entire beach and around all the pools and not a single lounge chair was available. That was painfully ridiculous and honestly beyond frustrating. From that moment I decided, NO WAY am I fighting every day like a vulture to find a lounge chair or get up at 6am to stake a claim. So I marched up to the lobby front desk and said “Here is the thing, I can’t find a lounge chair anywhere…you have suites with private pools…I want one please.”

So after a dent in my credit card, we tore off our blue wrist bands for peasants and replaced it with a gold band with the room key built in that granted us preferred access to everything. Like the Golden Gates opened and the sun shined through and the angels sang. buwahahahaha

The room had a HUGE tub in the middle of the room, which was super romantic but since I was staying with my kid, we didn’t use it. LOL that’s just weird. But we had a private pool with two private lounge chairs. Basically, I paid a crap ton for lounge chairs. It Was Worth It

Do as the Rich and Famous Do

Butler & Bottle Service

Along with our room upgrade, they gifted us with Butler & Bottle Service. What does that mean? Let me tell you….

For the week we had Adrian…at our beck and call. If we were hungry, message Adrian… If we needed drinks, message Adrian… If we needed a reservation, book the shuttle back to the airport, message Adrian. That was a luxury.

Let’s be clear though, it is not something I would ever pay for, but since it was gifted by the hotel why would I say no? Obviously, you wouldn’t say no to that.

Secretly though, it was a glorious feeling to know that when my neighbour saw Adrian delivering food and drinks all day they asked him for something as well and when Adrian said that he couldn’t because he was OUR Butler…that was such an amazing thing… It’s ridiculous I know, but I imagine that is exactly how the rich and famous feel… Getting side eye glances of jealousy mixed with envy and oddly enough some very undeserved respect as well. It was glorious! Even if it was only a 7 day long, once in a lifetime gluttonous blip in time.
