We Love Wine. That’s Why!

Handmade wines that reflect the delicious, enviable Okanagan Valley life

One day, I was just driving around exploring Kelowna and I came across this winery, super non-descript and set far back from the road…I decided to go check it out. So I drove up the winding drive way to the tasting room/cellar and was met with the most friendly of beings in all the land.

Abbey told me all about the winery, where they started, how they got there and it all started with this nagging doubt that they were missing out on life working their regular jobs. With this doubt growing louder and louder by the day they decided to basically say, eff it. Let’s do this damn thing.

I got a mini tour of the facility, had a tasting, fell in love with their The Pull (Red) and their Siegerrebe (White). I love it enough I have returned 3 times to stock up.

Small but mighty, the Nagging Doubt portfolio consists of fewer than ten wines at any given time. Their focus is on making exceptional vintages from only the best grapes, which often translates to limited quantities.

It’s always the boutique places that have the best wines. So far in my experience…the more attention the facility spends on cosmetic features typically equates to a lack in focus on perfecting the goods. Not always, but 8 out of 10 times in my experience, the fancier the place the less likely I enjoy their wines.

I am also a greasy spoon diner, cigarette burns in the carpet kind of pool hall bar girl too though. There is always a better story to be heard there. The best food I ever had was from a hole in the wall pub in the middle of nowhere near Bratislava on a Europe road trip. That was 11 years ago and I still think about that meal.

I feel quite strongly that 11 years from now, I will still be thinking about The Nagging Doubt.

PS. Their Siegerrebe makes an incredibly delicious freezie.

Now You Know!

Nagging Doubt Winery

If you haven’t been here or tried their wines, I highly recommend a visit and a tasting and learn about their story. Since 2010, making excellent Okanagan wines. Handcrafted. Thoughtful. Delicious.
