A New Adventure

Into the Mountains to Play with Monkeys

Take a tour with Runners Adventures it was totally worth it. This was a bit of a drive from the resort in an open air truck so be sure to have your hair pulled back or wear a hat that is secure.

This place offers 3 adventures in one, you can zip line, ATV and/or play with the monkeys all in a single location. The bonus was that we learned a bit about the coffee and coconut processes as well. How they harvest both, the process of producing coffee and ALL thing coconut related…Plus you have the opportunity to purchase organic products straight from the local plantation tax free instead of the over priced options at the resorts and airports.

We only opted to play with Monkeys because we booked a different tour to ATV.  But our tour included the Coconut House where we were introduced to the process of making coconut oil, learned about the way of living of the people in the countryside and taste the most delicious locally produced coffee, hot chocolate, mamajuana and roasted coconut.

Then we visited Monkeyland, a beautiful 5-acres park where we interacted with these adorable and friendly monkeys. They are completely accustomed to human contact and have been formed by a Canadian couple with 35 years of experience working with animals, including 12 years at the Toronto Zoo to teaching monkeys to trust and enjoy the company of humans.

They came down from the trees to sit on your shoulder, eat from your hands, pose for the cameras and even jump on top of your head!

Don’t miss this unforgettable experience at the heart of the Anamuya Mountains!
