As the year passes by…

My Final Destination of 2021

When I set out on this experimental journey I had initially decided that I would do it for one year.  I am now entering the final month of that year and I have chosen Macedonia as my home for the next month.  I hope to venture to Kosovo as well, the neighbour to the North…so while this is my last official country to ‘live’ in for 2021…I sure hope it is not my last country to visit in 2021.  ❤️

Spoiler Alert…I have also committed to continuing my adventures in 2022.  So let me tell you a little about Macedonia…

A NATURE LOVER’S HAVEN

Most Mountain Peaks in the World

A landlocked country in South Eastern Europe, another mysterious member of the Balkan elite. It borders with Kosovo and Serbia to the north, Bulgaria to the east, Greece to the south, and Albania to the west.

Macedonia’s borders are clearly defined by valleys, rivers and mountains and it has a higher number of mountains and mountain peaks than any other country in the world.

In the south west corner is Ohrid Lake and is one of Europe’s deepest and oldest lakes, estimated at 4 million years old.  ❤️
