Just another reason why Albania is a superior destination

Today I adventured to the sea, the beach, a winery and had an epic day…

I always joked with my girlfriends in high school that one day I would be a ‘Lady who lunches’. HAHAHA, What I meant was that would be my lifestyle, but I suppose your wishes are all in the wording. I didn’t exactly mean, that for just ONE day I would be a Lady who lunches’, but indeed today was the day my wish came true.

I sipped a Frappe by the sea, leisurely spread my toes in the Adriatic coastal sand, toured a winery and pretended that I am a cultured wine connoisseur, swirled and sipped whites and reds, ate decadently prepared food and finished it off with a classic Albanian Raki.

I learned so much about how wineries work. They taught me all about the many steps in the process, the careful calculations and the secret reasons why wine prices vary so drastically. After touring the facility and walking through the entire step by step process from strategic growing and cultivation to experimenting, labeling and storing…I now know and have a much deeper appreciation for the wine industry.

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a beer and bourbon girl and my tagline is “Wine is only good for cooking”…but I have changed my tune now. If you are in Albania, this winery is a must visit. It’s remote and secluded enough that its unique location creates such an intimate experience.

I was able to taste their white wine and their 3 red wines, a glass of their Raki (delish!!) and it was all accompanied by this incredible spread of perfectly prepared and paired dishes.

What a day! I am officially a ‘Lady who lunches’…even if only for one day. It was soooo worth it.
