Banff National Park, Alberta

Everyone visiting Banff, Lake Louise and Banff National Park need a Park Pass for the duration of their stay.  Banff National Park is famous for its vibrant lakes, majestic mountains and easy access to outdoor adventures of all kinds.

The park spans 6,641 square kilometres of inspiring mountainous terrain in the Canadian Rockies’ wilderness. Canada’s first national park and the world’s third, it has a rich heritage as one of the world’s most awe-inspiring mountain destinations.

Banff  and village of Lake Louise are uniquely located in the national park. In this one of a kind place. Canada’s Nature

Wildlife in Abundance

If you want a true Canadian experience, you need to come across some of Canada’s majestic animals. Seeing them in the wild is always a memorable experience and is part of every one of my road trips. I am also on the look out for someone beautifully at peace in their space.

Seeing a deer wondering around downtown while you head out to get your morning coffee is nearly a daily experience. Elk grazing in all their glory on the parkway, bears cruising around. It’s something to keep in mind when enjoying the nature for your safety as well, but to be sure to not disturb them. It pains my heart when I see people trying to take photos up close or feeding them. It’s illegal people and unsafe for everyone. Would you ever walk into your neighbours house and just start mucking around? NO, you wouldn’t so stop doing it to nature. Take pictures, but you don’t need selfies with them.

So when you adventure to the Canadian wildlife, take all your pictures from a safe distance and I hope you get to see something amazing: Bighorn Sheep, Moose, Wolves, Cougars…

Wildlife Overpasses and Underpasses

As you drive through the park, you’ll spot a number of wildlife bridges and tunnels. These crossings were created to help animals safely connect their habitats and migration routes without having to cross the road, keeping both animals and motorists safe. With 38 underpasses and 6 overpasses, Banff National Park has the most wildlife crossings in the world. By respecting these landscapes and the animals that call them home, we can help keep Banff National Park wild and thriving for many generations to come.
